Sandra Brownell, 70, of Sandy Springs, GA, died December 14, 2015. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Brownell of North Hollywood, CA and Linda Ingebrand of Tucson, AZ, as well as nieces and nephews Amanda O’Keefe, Matthew Thompson, Emily Thompson and Stephanie Ingebrand, and 7 great nieces and nephews.
Sandra had a zest for life and laughter, was an avid reader and a published poet. She was a collector of books and crystal but mostly enjoyed giving her treasures away. Sandra made contributions to many charities and a devoted her life to her church, most recently the Church of the Apostles in Atlanta. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and devoted most of her adult life to children, mentoring them, often taking them to Sunday school and then out to lunch after church. She also tutored boys after school at Eagle Ranch in Flowery Branch, GA. To neighbor children, she was known as the lady with popsicles, which she happily shared with a ready smile and a story about her life.
Sandra attended classes at Princeton University where, with sister Linda, she helped found a Christian coffee house on campus. She studied Fencing, a sport she excelled in. Professionally, Sandra worked as an administrative assistant at Mathematica and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in the Princeton area. Most of her career was devoted to various administrative positions at the Coca Cola Corporation in Atlanta, where she made many long time friends.
Sisters Barbara and Linda want to especially thank Pluria Howell, April Radkte, Ann Kieffer, and Zulma and Zelema Garcia and family for the love and friendship they shared with Sandy. Dear friends Beverly Westmoreland, Alice Nelson, Lisa Ware, and Joan Shumaker blessed Sandy with their presence at her bedside in her final hours.
Sweet Sandy will be remembered fondly by all those whose lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.

To the family: you have my sincerest and deepest condolences. I met Sandra at PruittHealth-Brookhaven doing her stay there for rehabilitation. While at Pruitt health of Brookhaven Sandra and I became very good friends. I would make arrange for her doctors appointment. I also spent many hours just talking and laughing with her. She would come and visit me in my office – sit down and just talk. I would also go check on and visit her daily in her room – stand there and just talk. She had the best laugh. One that made me smile and laugh. We loved spending time together when possible. Sandra was a very very sweet lady.! She always wanted to help others even though she was ill. I am so glad I got a chance to know her and just see her again before her passing. She was my friend and she will truly be missed by me.

I am very sorry to hear of Ms. Brownell’s passing. I barely knew her but every week when delivering her meal (through Meals on Wheels program) she was a ray of sunshine. A really pretty woman I felt she was even more beautiful on the inside. Please accept my condolences.

Ms. Sandy you will be truly missed 15 years of friendship and laughter. You never said no to a night of chat, you where always there when we needed you. I was able to meet the lord because of you, I was able to understand and read the bible because of you. Thank you for all those moments our pizza nights, when you cooked lunch for use. I will miss your calls, your laughter and jokes. You where and always will be my pink lips. You are in heaven now still watching over all you neighbor kids. Thank you for everything you did for my family and I. “Thank you thank you ” like you would say! Love you Ms. Sandy

My deepest condolences to the family and friends for the loss of your loved one. The Hearer of Prayer has promised to provide his holy spirit to those who sincerely ask for it. (Psalm 65:2). That same spirit can give you the power beyond what is normal to endure your grief.

My condolences to the Brownell family and friends. I met Sandy many years ago and I think she introduced me to the Bible Study sessions at Coke. She had a sweet spirit and always wore a lovely smile. May she rest in Peace!

Sandy was such a wonderful and giving person. So kind and loving, on her last day in the office when I worked with her Coca-Cola, she gave ME a gift and a card. It was so heartfelt and generous and I was reminded that it’s about the rewards of what we share with others rather than what we take. Sandy emulated that message and I’ll be forever greatful for having known her. I still have that card today and will treasure it and Sandy always.
My sincere condolences to her family.

I am just hearing about Sandra’s passing today, and my heart is so sad. She was the sweetest and most loving soul and even after both of us retired from Coke, she lived in my neighborhood and we would often see each other at the grocery stores in the area. She was always quick to find out how I was doing and give me advice, and was quick with a compliment for ME, and for others. Gentle and happy….pretty and a beautiful smile, she embodied the love of Christ both inside and out! I will miss seeing her, but I know that she is thrilled to be with the Lord!!

I met Sandy many years ago at The Coca-Cola Company. She and I worked in the same building, and she was a faithful member of our weekly Bible study. Sandy was faithful to join me in praying for the salvation of one of my family members for many years, and those prayers were heard and answered by our Lord in a mighty way. Just the thought of Sandy brings a smile to my face. She was always pleasant, positive, and kind. She was a true example of what it means to be a servant of the Lord. While we are all sorrowful over the loss of such a wonderful person, it is comforting to know that she is with the Lord who she loved so much and is now receiving her reward. To the family, please accept my sincerest condolences. I know your loss is huge, and you are in my prayers.

May Jehovah God comfort you during this time of loss. Though there may be little that can be said or done to ease your pain, may you find comfort in knowing that many care and sympathize with your sadness. Always know that Jehovah God is with you to strengthen and guide you. May your trust in his promise of a resurrection bring you peace. – Acts 24:15

I met Ms. Sandy when I was a little girl,
She would wake us up early every Sunday and we would go to Sunday School with her
God knows how much she loves Him…
So many beautiful memories fill my heart at the thought of her…
I remember how we would enjoy the rest of the day after Sunday school with her…
We would go out for Pizza, take it to the park and sit on the grass and talk,
or she would make us fettuccine with our Ginger ale of course…
She would always look out for us as if we were her own,
She loved all the kids so much…
I remember a time where my family was going thru some hard times and Ms. Sandy went out to buy food for us…We were a Family of 5… She had such a Huge heart…
I also remember how one Christmas my parents had no money to buy us gifts and she went out and got us some Roller Blades…
She told me & my sister that Santa had gone to our house but our door was closed so he left our gifts at her house…
So many adventures with Ms. Sandy, I could be here all day…
We later where blessed with a bigger home and we would often drive down to Sandy Springs to visit her yet one day when we went she was no longer there and we had lost communication with those around her…
Today I heard of her passing and truly it breaks my heart…
God has the most Beautiful Angel with him…
We Love you & Thank You for everything…
You will never be forgotten…
