With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gidget Chamlee on October 4, 2025.
Gidget Tillman Chamlee was born on April 30, 1974 to the late Shirley Ann Pugh Maney in Atlanta, Georgia. She held many positions in different companies throughout Georgia.
Gidget faced many difficulties throughout her life and made the best out of each situation. She was a very happy person even when life wasn't going her way. She was born with a tumor on her spine that was not found until she was 35 which caused her to be paralyzed. It wasn't an easy battle for her, but she continued to find the joy in life such as by chasing her son around Wal-Mart with a riding cart or hitting someone with her walker. She would hardly ever be seen without a Mountain Dew bottle in her hand. She loved Georgia Tech and always had a battle with her son about them being better than the Georgia Bulldogs just because she knew he would get mad and argue with her every time. She loved watching her grandson grow through photos.
She is survived by her son Dustin (Elizabeth) Chamlee; grandson Jackson Chamlee; brothers Marcus Shane Tillman, Marty (Sandra) Maney; sister-in-law Rose Teixeira Tillman; nieces Ashley (Michael) Codwise, Shelly (Allen) Lynch, and Mariah (Cameron Finley) Teixeira; nephew Lawrence Wright, and a host of other loved ones.
Gidget was preceded in death by her brother Anthony “Tony” Tillman, her mother Shirley Maney, and her stepfather James Maney
There will be a private memorial to honor Gidget's life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to West Georgia Crematory, Austell, GA.
