Bobbie Carter Unsworth

Bobbie Carter Unsworth, 86, of Rome, GA, passed away on March 15th, 2019 with her family at her side in Summerville, GA.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19th in the Sanctuary of NorthPointe Church in Adairsville, Georgia. The family will recieve visitors immediately following the service.

Bobbie was born September 15, 1932 to Lester and Thelma Carter. She was of the Baptist faith and last attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Rome High School. Bobbie was married to the love of her life, Don, for 60 years.

Throughout the years, Bobbie held various artistic careers. She was a well-known jewelry designer, egg artist and pet groomer. She was a member of the Quilting Club and the Red Hatters Club. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, quilting, arts & crafts, traveling and caring for her dogs, cats and birds. However, the title she was most proud of was "mother".

Bobbie was also a true "Southern Belle." She would wake up early in the morning to "put her face on" and prepare breakfast for when everyone else got up. Speaking of breakfast, her biscuits were legendary, especially a hot buttered biscuit with fresh strawberries and toppped with whipped cream. She was known to her grandchildren as, "Danny." She taught her grandchildren etiquette, manners, and to always "say yes ma'am, no ma'am, yes sir, and no sir." She always made sure her family knew she loved them. And if you were sick, you were going to get some of the best chicken noodle soup ever.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband, Don Unsworth, brother Liddell Carter and two grandchildren, Ashley Morris and Ryan Unsworth.

Bobbie is survived by her children and their spouses Tracey & Johnny Morris, Adairsville, Carter & Nina Unsworth, Donna & Richard Barnes, and Angela (Honey) Blalock all of Rome. Grandchildren Michael & Tracy Pegg of Buford, Ga. Allyson Unsworth of Charleston, SC, Shane & Ansley Unsworth of Ooltewah, TN, MaKaylie & Andre Peterkin of Doha, Qatar and Tyler Morris of Marietta, Luke & Andrea Kelly of Cave Spring, GA. Great grandchildren include Reagan and Grant Unsworth, Orion Peterkin, and Michael Unsworth.
