  1. Love thy neighbor as thy self

May the “God of peace” grant us all His loving-kindness forever. This message is to provide comfort to us mourners over Loyd’s death.

These words of Christ Jesus is a source of comfort: “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs(graves) will hear his(Jesus) voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.”-John 5:28, 29.

God has purposed that mankind live in peace without the fear of ever dying, so since death is not a part of God’s original purpose, Loyd will come back to a world free from pain, and suffering, even never dying at all.

Below are three messages I received from Decatur classmates sending fond memories of Clif. He was a fine man and we did not want him to pass from us without recognition. He will be missed by many folks.

Sally my memories of Clifton go back to elementary school. He lived halfway from my house on West Hill St to Fifth Avenue School. When walking to school each morning we met at his driveway and walked and talked until almost time for the last bell to ring. Carol King Pope

who is gone now too.He and Frank lived maybe 2 doors apart growing up on Oakview Road. Tommy Summers
lived on Maxwell Street around the corner from them. My aunt Selena Armistead lived on Maxwell too.

    Sally,
Cliff was an accomplished musician and very good friend until I married and moved away. He played trombone in the DHS band & once played for a revival service at Wheat St. Baptist Church where I believe Dr. Martin Luther King preached. His mother was a very sweet lady.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Thanks for keeping us connected.
