After graduating from high school she took bookkeeping classes and began employment in Dayton. At the age of 21, Kathaleen married Robert H. Paullin who she met on her job. After moving to Ft. Katie enjoyed bowling, golf, and playing cards and the organ. She continued to live in Hillsboro Beach until moving to Roswell, Georgia in 2006 after breaking a hip, where she lived with her son Jim and his wife Kathy. After breaking a second hip in 2008, she moved to Hearthstone Assisted Living in Roswell until her death on April 12 at 88 years of age. Katie had been under hospice care for nearly seven months. While remaining alert and mobile with a walker until recent weeks, she had great difficulty in word finding, probably due to either a stroke or dementia. Katie
