George was beloved by many and survived by his loving wife, his two children Thea Dogias (Matt Dillon) of Dahlonega and Jake Dogias of Atlanta.  He was a proud grandfather to his four granddaughters Rebecca Martin (Cole) of Demorest GA, Sidney Whitted (Statesboro) and Taylor Hudgins (Dahlonega), Caitlin Dillon (Dahlonega), nephew David Jones (Gina and Isaiah) of Acworth.  He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Demetrius Dogias (Ellie) of Sacramento and Nicholas Dogias (Mary Ann) of Syracuse, NY.  He is also survived by his brother Alex Dogias of Cohoes, NY.

His private family service will be held on Tuesday May 8, 2018 and he will be entombed at the Georgia National Cemetery located in Canton, GA.

He was a kind, gentle soul that will be greatly missed by all and his memory will live on through his family that loved him dearly.

I played professionally with George many many years ago, and YES we all knew him as a kind, gentle spirit, and a fantastic, passionate musician. I just learned of his passing, and my heart breaks for the family. the good news is that this is not all there is, and I spoke to Geoge frequently about Eternity. I thank God that we will see him again.
