| Walter (Woody or Tump) Grady Woodard, Sr., 74, of Rome, died December 3, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ione Frances Woodard, daughters, Vicki Denise Woodard of Rome, Carla Lee Woodard of Florence, SC, sons Walter Grady Woodard, Jr. of Fernandina Beach, FL, David Brian Woodard of Cave Springs, Sister Bobbie Jean Weggenman of Jacksonville, FL, brother, Mike Woodard, Sr. of Baxley, GA, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Woody is preceded in death by his daughter Darla Jean Woodard, sister, Ora Lee Woodard, Brother James Woodard. Many nieces, nephews, cousin and extended family in South Georgia & Florida. Tump was an avid fisherman, enjoyed carpentry and spent many years traveling singing southern gospel music. Walter lived by the motto “To GOD Be The Glory”. Woody was a member of the Community Chapel Baptist Church in Rome. |
